My name is Jade Kovacevic and I am a young woman currently pursuing a Business Marketing degree at Fanshawe College, who comes from the small town of Georgetown, Ontario. While having a fierce passion for athletics at an early age, soccer was my strong suit and it led me to experience things many didn’t throughout their teen years. In 2010, I was given the opportunity to represent my country at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad in Tobago. Throughout high school, soccer took me all over Canada and the world, to places including Chile, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark and the United States. Shortly after graduating from Acton District High School in 2012, I was off to Japan with the Women’s U-20 National Team to compete in the U-20 Women’s World Cup- what an experience that was. Not making it out of group stages, I was then shipped off way down south to Louisiana State University for school, on scholarship to study journalism. Only completing one semester and dropping everything in January of 2013 was the best decision I’ve ever made. Through all these events, my understanding of gratitude, making the most of each day and earning what you want and not waiting for it to happen to you, has put me where I am today. Over 2013 up to the end of summer 2014, I continued to train on a monthly basis with the National Team in prep for this past summers World Cup that was hosted here in Canada, but unfortunately I was cut short of that opportunity. Acquiring secretarial management duties working for Banbury Law Office, as well as Mackenzie and Chapman Law Office, tested my mental capabilities and organizational skills on a daily basis. After saving enough money to attend school, I am now currently living here in London and taking the first steps towards creating myself and my career.
Below, you will find some pictures to put to my words above.
